Yes, it is a new release alert and no, it is not for one of my books, but I am deliriously proud to announce that my son Wyatt has a new book out and it is fantastic! I have joked with him that I don’t think I am quite smart enough to read some of the parts of this amazing collection of short stories, which all intertwine with one another.
All I can say is that I think it is brilliant, funny, clever, and slightly absurd in the best possible way. I know. I am his mom. I am supposed to say things like that, but I truly mean it. I will say that as a writer, I was almost jealous. Fellow writers out there…you get it, right? You read something and you’re like, shoot, I wish I could have wrote that. That’s how I felt as I was reading this book. There was initially pride and then envy.
I am including the description and link to Amazon down below. Give it a shot if you are interested. I can assure you that you won’t be disapponted!
Description~
This is an absurdist short story collection — and something that I wasn’t expecting to come together quite as well as it has. It’s a unique blending of characters who readers may recognize from our previous works. Yet, it is also entirely independent of the present stories, which makes it perfect for readers looking to jump right in to the world.
There are few stories more adventurous or entertaining then the one you are about to embark upon, dear reader. In a tale filled with nail-biting suspense, off-kilter quips, and a colorful troupe of characters; The Misadventures of a Petty God promises to always keep you guessing.
Following the journey of a trickster deity, their hijinks impact the daily lives of normal mortals – including a comatose patient, a reservoir dog, a corpse and a ball of nerves. This brings them to the forefront of a godly rivalry between them and Kali, the goddess of chaos. The fight to reclaim a god’s most important asset, their identity, forces the trickster on a mind-bending journey through time, space, multiple Hells and at least one morality play.
For those looking for the same-old, same-old; this short story collection is not for you. However, if you’ve also been fed up with the monotony of literary ventures and the plight many creatives face in publishing – this might be right up your alley!
