The Huntress Chronicles, The Cursed Series, and The Village of the Lost Boxsets Released!

Another week, another boxset or should I say three?

I just felt they all should be published together since they all go with one another. These nine books are so intertwined and it just felt right to release each boxset at the same time.

But, I suppose, I should start at the beginning.

The Huntress Chronicles is a special series for me. I knew I wanted to create a series set in Charleston, SC and it was supposed to be my third series, but that darn fairy door completely overtook my imagination and so The Hidden Realm series was born.

Funnily enough, The Wings of the Fallen, was also the first time I had ever experienced the dreaded condition called Writer’s Block. I sailed through the first few chapters and then…nothing. I was stuck and I couldn’t figure out why. My outline was written. I had a clear vision. I had no idea what was happening to me. I took a few weeks off and then I figured it out.

It was Cristiano. The vampire I had been determined to remain evil. He slithered into my writing soul and I couldn’t get him out of my mind. It was supposed to be Griffin. The noble, down-to-earth griffin was to be the one to capture Sloane’s heart, but fate intervened.

This was also the first series I collaborated with my sons. Yup, you read that right. It was the beginning of our writing circle and I am fully aware my son Ethan still claims to be the one who came up with the idea for the series but it was mine, thank you very much. I had the idea to place a hell underneath Charleston, which is known as the Holy City, I did toy around with the idea of fallen angels but once again, fate just strolled through the door.

All three of my kids are readers. I always encouraged it since they were barely out of diapers and the one subject which fascinated them was Greek mythology. I played with so much of it in this series and also The Cursed Series and The Village of the Lost that I vowed not to incorporate it again for an extremely long time!

The Huntress Chronicles was a roller coaster ride to write and I loved every minute of it…well, after the whole writer’s block debacle. I loved it so much that I had to keep going. I mean, Rafe was the gift that kept on giving. More importantly though, it was so much fun to write about my adoptive home here in the south. I’m not certain if Charlestonians are thrilled I put a hell underneath the city with deplorable monsters but not to worry. We have an incredible huntress keeping us safe from harm!

The Cursed Series was a joy to write from start to finish. I adore Hattie and Rafe. I loved their adventures together and I also knew the second they stepped foot into the village of the lost that I was going to have to stick around after I was done with their story to finish writing about the other incredible characters who resided there.

The Village of the Lost series were the first books I wrote after my father passed away and I think this is why these books, in particular, are special to me. They provided me with an escape which I needed rather desperately. Luca’s story definitely allowed me to explore some of the darkness which was creeping around my soul and I truly did feel bad for what I put him through, but I think I gave him the ending he so richly deserved and, truth be told, I cried when he finally faced Circe. The being who I had wanted to write since Wings of the Fallen was Griffin and I loved every second of crafting his story and Alessia was an utter joy to create.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
